| UPDATES AND NEWS: |

04/28/02 Well, I have to apologize for the screwed-upness of the site recently. I had been part way into some work when I had to leave. I left the work unfinished with the intent to come back to it later, but somehow it got saved and uploaded while I was away. The result? The mess that was up yesterday. Well, part of it's fixed. We now have this indiglo blue background for news posts, but I'm still not sure if I like it. What do you think? There's a forum you know, I could use the feedback. =) Right, /rant off. The links section is now happily nurtured, but lonely. Go and bask in not one, but two selections of internet musings. It works like this: "Universal Constants" is your run o' the mill links section with some sites that I hit on a more than regular basis. "Chaos Theory" is a little different. I'll be posting links to all things interesting and amusing I find in my web-surfin' or my e-mail. I'll be updating them on a regular basis kind of like the comic, so it's worth checking in every now and again. I'll also be archiving past links in case you miss one. I have a few pieces of art that I'll be posting soon. I'll let you know. It seems that what everyone wants most is more comics. And why wouldn't you? This is supposed to be a web comic after all. I hear you, I'll get to work on the most important part: the strips. The site may not be done, but it's at least functional. I'll get going on the strips and the server and try to fit in the rest as time allows. Thanks to Jekka and Erin for the wake-up call. Honto ni arigatou! 04/07/02 Thanks to everyone for sticking around! We finally have a comic, so I can start calling this a web comic again. I have lots more work done on paper for future comics, but my goal is to complete the site look and layout and get all sections up and running before I put lots of work into them. The sooner that's done, the sooner PL will launch. Then we get weekly comics, maybe more. =) The art section is active, though nothing's really there but the old blue pic. Fear not, I'll give you some love there soon enough. Links are in the process of being finished, and I'm almost done the main bio sketch of Trent, our journal writer with the dark hair above. A bit more art and the cast section will be up. Crew is easy. Hi. I'll toss some credits in there though, there's certainly people worth mentioning. God bless coffee and M&Ms. Once the new server space is set up, I'll also incorporate a better, ad-free message board. That leaves us with my next step. Moving the site to it's new home at paradox-lost.com. Not much longer and we'll have an active, full fledged site. That thought makes this all worth while. 03/10/02 Just a quick note to let you know the forum is back up in all it's former forumness. Use it or join Lem Li in the Hell of Being Cut to Pieces. (Chinese have a lot of hells). 03/04/02 So... it's been a few weeks, huh? I suck. I have been working on PL, though, working hard in a behind-the-scenes sort of way. (In a pay my bills so I can keep my apartment and continue to work on this comic sort of way.) It's safe to say the launch of PL will be delayed, but not by much. Once my wicked plan of a comic- buffer is put into action (one that I've only seen Megatokyo incorporate just recently, and even then, poor Piro is only giving himself a one strip buffer) we shall have PL goodness on a regular basis. Sure, you might wonder what kind of goodness -you've never seen an actual PL strip- but trust me, if you're a fan of anime/manga, games of a classic flavor, or large amounts of coffee, then I'm sure you'll enjoy PL's unique brand of humor in the way one enjoys watching the art professor accidentally drink his paint water instead of his coffee, or detonating sheep in close proximity to the roommates. The forum is down for the moment, thank you to the lame-ass who hacked Bravenet. They should be back up in a matter of days. They had this to say: Dear
Members and Visitors, You can view the rest of their message here. Just because you've never seen a PL strip, only the same blue piece of art above, I'm going to get the cast, crew, art and links buttons working. That will give you some more to chew on until the page is fully running. I'll also put up the first strip since it doesn't really end on a cliffhanger. You can learn more about the story and characters and even see what the real art will look like. Who loves ya? All of you who've seen this site so far know me in one way or another, in "real life" or through the internet. The support you've given me has been more than I could have hoped for, especially considering how friggin long it's taking me. I can't thank you enough for that. I can't wait to launch and show PL to the rest of the world. Until then, remember, this is your site. You are here because I trust you enough to see a naked, unfinished work of mine, and tell me what sucks and what doesn't. Thank you. And if you're a certain dead-sexy blond young lass who happens to be the best damned female vocalist/pianist I've had the pleasure to meet, as well as one hell of an artist, thank you. You inspire me and your support lately has meant more to me than you know. That's all Poncho's got. 02/12/02 Art is coming along nicely, though I've hit the first small snag. Both the main and backup scanners have died. No worries, I'll use this as an excuse to get a nicer one. This means better looking art for you. I think I've decided on a day to post each week. Since I tend to have most Sunday nights relatively free, the plan is to have each new strip up each Monday. Eventually, I'd like to post new strips two or three times a week, but for now, I only want to commit to once. The reason for this? It's just me here, folks. The web site, the art, the story, all have just one person with a full time job in addition to work on them. I don't want to miss a day, though, so it's once a week for now. I'm working towards making this my main thing, and once I can figure out a way to focus all of my attention here, the story will pick up dramatically. Though most strips will be traditional B&W manga, I'll throw a color one your way every third or so strip. That's all I got. 02/01/02 Ooo, buttons... y'can click the ones that highlight. Sorry about the adds in the Forum. Again, those go away at launch. Also, if you want to get here with a shorter URL, you can use clix.to/paradoxlost until I get a real domain set up. There's a small chance that you might get an add that way too, though I haven't yet. Use the forum, tell me what you want to see in launch. 01/31/02 Hey again. Got a bunch more art done, and there's now a message board for you to post some feedback! It's just a simple, free Bravenet board now, but once the page launches I'm hoping to have UBB set up. ($$$) So anyway, feel free to use that board, I should have an actual strip up soon. Laters, 01/27/02 Hello, and welcome to Paradox Lost (alpha version!). If you're here, then you must know me or something, because this is the pre launch version of the page. I hope to be up and running soon, but still have some work to do, both with the strip and with the page itself. On my to do list are:
I really appreciate all the support you've all given me as I've endeavored to make this whole project happen. It may never get to be as big as some of the giants out there, and I don't dare dream that it will be half as cool as say Penny Arcade or Megatokyo, but that's not the point. This place is here for you to enjoy and for me to feel like I'm a true starving artist! I've put up a clip of some of the art to kind of tide you over, at least until I can get this place launched. I would LOVE some feedback from anyone who wants to send some in. Let me know if the color-scheme is impossible to read, if the art sucks, anything. Hell, I don't even have a real name for it yet, but Paradox Lost seems to be sticking for the time being. A chance it will change before launch, but we'll have to see! Thanks again and Stay Tuned! |
